I have a 2740p, which I believe is just a smaller screen version of the model referenced in this bug report.
I'm using 11.10. When I try to do a two-finger pinch or rotate, the system no longer recognizes any right-mouse clicks on the trackpad device. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/HardwareSupport suggests using 'setserial' for this device, but I'm not sure how to do that.
