Please reopen this issue. Using Blueman is not an option in my and I suspect many others' cases. In my specific use case tethering a phone as a bluetooth DUN modem succeeds in Blueman however the modem never is made available in NetworkManager. Attempts to connect to the DIal up service via Blueman state success, however no connection is made.
Using gnome-bluetooh (after installing gnome-control-center, which is not desired) has no problem connecting to the Bluetooth DUN and providing proper networking. While this may be a problem with Blueman the end result is that either users use the broken Blueman package (which does not provide full bt functionality) or must install gnome-control-center due to dependencies, and gnome-cc is no longer installed. $ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. However until Blueman is fixed gnome-bluetooth (or working equivalent) should be installed and available. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/831488 Title: Xubuntu should not call gnome-control-center To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/831488/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
