I have done more tests and, apparently this has nothing to do with kvm.

for 'historical' reasons, I've been stopping my VM with 'halt'. If I use
'poweroff' on Oneiric, the VM/kvm is correctly terminated.

Now in order to better understand the context, I went back to a Natty VM
and did the 'halt' test again. Here is what I get :

 * All processes ended within 1 seconds.... [ OK ]
 * Deconfiguring network interfaces...                                   [ OK ]
 * Deactivating swap...                                                  [ OK ]
 * Unmounting weak filesystems...                                        [ OK ]
 * Unmounting local filesystems...                                       [ OK ]
 * Will now halt
[   31.189938] Power down.

For some reason that I need to investigate, 'halt' prior to Oneiric was
doing the same thing than poweroff. This is no longer the case with
Oneiric. So you can dismiss this bug as Iinvalid.

Thank you for your help.
