I am not quite sure if this belongs here, but if you came here because you experienced the same bug and need to run QGis nonetheless: A workaround is to upgrade to nightly builds of QGis. There is a repository for precise builds, see http://hub.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/wiki/Download Works for me for now...
