Hello AlainODea, and thank you for your bug report. I have tried to
reproduce and I noticed that the installation of Dropbox includes a
dialog box that appears and must be completed in order to complete the
installation. This is not the usual case with installed packages, as you
know, but it is not disallowed.

In any case, did you happen to notice that dialog box and complete its
steps? When I tried cancelling out of it, I saw the symptoms you
describe, which is that Software Center does not show the installation
as "complete". I think that's to be expected, at least on the Software
Center side, because the installation process was never actually
"completed". After restart of Software Center, the Dropbox package
showed as installed.

Please let me know if this might have been that cause of what you saw,
and any other details you can think of.
