Thanks for the responses to date. Needless to say, since opening this bug writing to the SDHC has started to work. Not sure why/how. I did format it once as FAT32 via gparted since opening this bug, previously, it was formatted as per the Canon camera (FAT32 also). However, I'm still seeing some issues I will report on my progress shortly.
