Update: Like I promised in my last post, I restarted the system, running
linux-image-3.2.0-23-generic-pae, I started ubuntu and watched a couple
of you tube videos, also started inkscaped but didn't use it for
anything and just closed it, then i tried to shutdown, but it
unfortunately didn't power off.
Again i started, the system and only did an update from the terminal
with sudo apt-get updatea & sudo apt-get dist-upgrade. Then i did a
reboot and it actually rebooted.
I will try some more combinations and get back to you.
