*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 921168 ***

Personally I don't think this is a duplicate of #921168.
I am seeing this here with gnome-shell, and what will happen is that I will get
the normal built-in popup of the message contents, then again. If I open the
bottom-right hand notification area, it shows the person's avatar and the
number of missed im's. It also creates a new icon for empathy itself that seems
to just bring the app forward. If I open the contact's chat log in gnome-shell,
the unread indicator goes away and it shows the built-in chat log, but the
empathy icon does not. If I click the icon, it opens the empathy window holding
that chat. Before, the empathy icon never showed up, so only the built-in
gnome-shell chat interface was in the notification area.
I just updated to 12.04 today but:
Empathy is 3.4.1-0ubuntu1
gnome-shell is 3.4.1-0ubuntu2
I will see if I can get a few images, though that might be hard to get
all the popups and what not.
