I've attached the three files you requested at different stages of this process: 1) After upgrading to 12.04 directly from a new 11.10 install and logging in - Opensource drivers - 2nd monitor is not recognized 2) After installing the ATI Catalyst 12.3 Drivers directly from ATI (fglrx) - monitor recognized via Catalyst but not ubuntu display application 3) Made adjustments and actually got extended display working via Catalyst until my next login at which point I get a black screen if the second monitor is plugged in to the HDMI Port (I can log in and operate the system fine so long as the second monitor (HP2310m) is not plugged in.
Current state is FGLRX ATI Catalyst 12.3 - monitor goes black if logging in with second monitor plugged in to HDMI. ....My next move is to try to upgrade the ATI 12.3 drivers to 12.4, but having already tried the 12.4 drivers originally I'm not optimistic. ** Attachment added: "Requested log files" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/989347/+attachment/3110505/+files/vcard%20debug.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/989347 Title: second monitor crashes system when plugged in To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/989347/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
