It happens with Spanish translations too. After upgrading to precise
Kaffeine is in English and doesn't let change the language to Spanish.

As a workaround, I have downloaded the package language-pack-kde-es-base
from oneiric repository and unzipped it with Ark (also unzipped
data.tar.gz, which is inside the deb package) and moved the file
kaffeine.mo to /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES. After that,
Kaffeine is in Spanish as it was in oneiric.

Perhaps this workaround can be applied to other languages.
