This is still a problem. I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 and started a thread one year ago about this issue here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11915945 .
Basically temperature idles around 50 degrees and on average use bounce up to around 60. I haven't tried any intensive tasks yet. >From what I've noticed the fan always seem to run at the same setting and >never boosting up or settling down. However 50 degrees is 10 degrees higher >than Windows 7 during low CPU load. If there's anything I can do let me know.
