Occurs every time for me, with final release of 12.04, immediately after I respond to "attempt to unmount" query. (Query is because I have booted from ISO file so one partition is already mounted.) This is effectively a show-stopper because OOPS message obscures the screen. Eventually ALT-F7 returns to install. There is another hazard there since the keyboard apparently still controls install while it's invisible, so trying ENTER at the OOPS message sets install to work doing the wrong thing.
The failing system contains an empty ext4 partition. If this is changed to ext2 or removed or somewhat filled then the OOPS does not occur. This should be an adequate work-around since an empty partition isn't precious. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/951537 Title: BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000140 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/951537/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
