I see this as well on a fresh install Ubuntu 12.04. Installation was done from the server iso. KDE runs as desktop. It typically happens while moving the mouse around in firefox. But happened also one time with qtcreator. Could be related to some graphic effects which usually happen when mouse hover links, items etc.
I could observe it with 3.2.0-22 and 3.2.0-23. I'm using the GPU in a Intel i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (the new Ivy Bridge).
