Hi, i have a similar problem, although i am on a desktop (amd64). Ive
been running feisty since day one, and everything was working fine.
then, one day this week i booted and to my amazement, NO SOUND!
everything seems to be ok though, i reinstalled alsa, blablabla, but
simply no sound. i tried with head phones, etc. but nothing comes out.
Nothing in the UI indicates any problems.
Can anyone help to figure our how sound can magically stop? (this is
really annoying for media professionals)

Note: i am no linux specialist, simply one of those average users that
jumped from windows to linux.
