There are a couple of comments that 295.49-0ubuntu0.1 has fixed this problem, and another comment that it improved things although not to the same standard as previously. Given that there are no reports of regressions I feel that we should should get this out the door sooner rather than later, as it is holding up the fix for bug #982485 which has been verified.
