I thought I'd added a comment earlier, but I don't see it. If this is a repeat, I'm sorry. I'm seeing the problem on a home built system built on a GA-E350N motherboard with an ATI 6310 graphics card. Reboot and Shutdown work, the system hangs on the purple screen with the Ubuntu logo. Sometimes I get the dots, sometimes I don't. Once it hangs the only path forward is to power down using the rocker switch. Two other observations:
1. Suspend works as it should. 2. If I logout and shutdown from the login screen, the system shuts down as it should. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991977 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 hangs on shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/991977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
