Honestly Joseph, employing the 'Suspend' menu item actually results in the Hibernation state I want (drives down, power supply fan stopped, monitor off) and this is an old second-hand computer I only use to listen to music while I work in the garage.
I don't feel competent to submit an upstream bug report. It would take me four hours to learn to correctly follow their procedure. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=hibernate already has 77 reports. Mine for this ten year-old Phoenix BIOS wouldn't really help anyone. This issue will probably resolve in Quantal Quetzal. If you would please, just kill this launchpad bug report. Thank you for helping me. I do appreciate it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001669 Title: Hibernate Error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1001669/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
