I have not yet upgraded to 12.04. Still using 10.04LTS.

I purchased another modem - Huawei K3565 (Rev2) - and this worked first
time. I then disconnected the K3565 and plugged in the K3520 and it worked.

Occasionally I still have problems: "Enable Broadband" is not available on
network-manager.
Rebooting about 3 to 4 times, sometimes using Recovery option and low
graphics mode sometimes seems to solve that problem, but there is no clear
pattern.
