Ok, I will have to retract my claim that the problem is fixed. I had the (options -> interface -> display -> disable animation/on top style for alert messages) option set so there was now way I would see the problem.
With the package in feisty/universe (2.5.0.0repack1-0ubuntu1), I can reproduce the crash when it attempts to create the sliding window. With the package in feisty-proposed/universe (2.5.0.0repack1-0ubuntu1.1~proposed1), it does not crash anymore. It does show the warning message below that might have something to do with it: (SWT:5655): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width 250 and height -1 I do not think this bug is a duplicate of bug 57875, but I do think the fix for it has made the search for the root cause of this bug simpler. ** Changed in: azureus (Ubuntu Feisty) Status: Fix Released => Confirmed -- Azureus crashes just after startup (attempt to show sliding notification window) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/68020 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
