I have a Intel Z77 as well. Wanted see if there has been any progress or a driver work around to get this working. I ran speaker-test -c 2 -t sine -D plughw:PCH and got this:
speaker-test 1.0.25 Playback device is plughw:PCH Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels Sine wave rate is 440.0000Hz Playback open error: -16,Device or resource busy I ran this test with speakers plugged into the the brown and green jacks in the back (which work), while having the headphones plugged into the front of the box. FYI while headphones plugged in, muting for the back jacks (speakers) works as it should. I hope this is helpful for someone out there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996245 Title: [Gigabyte MB: GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB, ALC898] No sound from headphone/line- out jacks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/996245/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
