The 2.0.2 release has a large number of changes over 2.0.1 (the website says over 500 commits), although from the NEWS file it does sound like this is almost entirely bug fixes. Unfortunately vlc does not have an MRE granted for it in Ubuntu so this would not qualify for an ordinary SRU. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for the SRU policy; generally SRUs are for individual, specific bug fixes to reproducible defects.
However, given how much care it appears VLC put into making 2.0.2 a bug- fix-only release, and that they include a test suite, I would rather suggest looking at requesting a MRE for VLC. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/MicroReleaseExceptions for the MRE process. Aside from that, the security fixes are almost certainly going to be acceptable via Ubuntu Security. The other three fixes rdenis suggests sound doable as individual srus, but we'd need to have test cases (and probably separate bug reports) for each. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1025713 Title: SRU request for VLC 2.0.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/1025713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
