Daniel, as I've written on the merge propsal for lp:~thumper/unity/regional-damage-sru/+merge/116796, that seems to fix the issue, however with that branch I have the PC hanging after few seconds (when it works), or lots of crashes on startup. The backtrace looks similar to bug #982626
