I've produced Feisty versions of the new fglrx debs, which are available here:

The Gutsy fglrx has just today been uploaded so should be available to
everyone now. Several people helped me in testing it and it looks good.
Regarding the syscall problems, unfortunately since Feisty is already
released, the SRU folks only accept patches for bugs that result in
reproduceable crashes or serious data loss for users, and even then only
if the patch is very small. So for instance SRUing 8.37.6 wouldn't go
through. Fortunately, Gutsy is just a few months away. :-)
