I changed the 'needs-upstream-testing' to 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream-linux-3.5.0-6-generic' I obviously am testing the quantal kernel in Precise, as I thought it may have been fixed WAY up stream, but this isn't the case. The problem developed in the switch from lucid to maverick. I have wiped the hard drive and reinstalled. I've tried numerous OS. All linux kernels past the 2.6.3(something) mark are affected.
