Hi, Lenovo W520. Mint 13 (Maya) 64bit with MATE.
Boot freezes with Discrete Graphics selected on BIOS. I am also annoyed by this bug, since I need to attach an external monitor on a daily basis. Best workaround I found: booting W7 (booo!), then using Virtual Box to run Mint off its partition (raw vmdk). Virtual machine configured with two virtual screens. I know, it's a hack, but it does the job, and performance-wise doesn't look that terrible. I can work this way.
