These commands had no useful effect. The log file, if it exists, is called "/var/log/upstart/resolvconf.log" (or, perhaps, that name with some sort of *.gz extension). > apt-get upgrade This is what "fixed" things. Resolvconf was actually fully installed the first time; the abort-on-nonzero-exit-status was spurious. To complete the upgrade it sufficed to retry the upgrade. But the fact that the upgrade aborted the first time is still bad, mysterious and worrisome. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041234 Title: Upgrade of resolvconf from 1.63ubuntu* to 1.63ubuntu15 fails: start: Job failed to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/1041234/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
