Yes, I concur with Jim, I tested the 3.6.0-rc3 kernel and the brightness
keys work well on that one.

I'll mark as Confirmed and kernel-fixed-upstream; although, to
reiterate, the problem was NOT present on 3.2.0-26 and IS present on
3.2.0-29 so it may not be an upstream issue.
