this is caused by conflicting third party software, nothing Ubuntu can
do anything about:

update-alternatives: error: alternative link 
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so is already managed by 
xulrunner-addons-flashplugin.
dpkg: error processing flashplugin-installer (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of flashplugin-nonfree:
 flashplugin-nonfree depends on flashplugin-installer; however:
