I have just run:

sudo apport-collect -p linux 642517

and I hope that provides the required information.

One thing to note, if it is indeed EMI that is causing the issue, and
adding the USB isolator close to the PC substantially reduces the issue,
then why can the USB code that is part of the kernel not recover
gracefully???
