Just to clarify, my question about a workaround relates to the machine described in the initial description of this bug, not the GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE problem described in bug #824099 when I add a second monitor to a different machine. Unless that is I have missed something and the problem in the machine in the description relates to max texture size.
