Problem still exists. I downloaded from the first link that you gave me the files -3.6.0-999.201209070401 and this fixed the Dmesg problem of the drives continually being aborted and restarted. Will now try the files from the link at the bottom of your email as it still just plays the first track of any CD. in Kaffeine.
