What GUI are you using in this test, Precise AMD64 Unity 3D?
As well, it is advised to parse this report down to one bug scenario,
and make separate reports for any other bugs that may be present. Hence,
let us focus on the following setup:
+ Precise AMD64 Unity 3D (assuming you prefer Unity 3D over gnome-shell)
+ lo-menubar installed (If using Unity 3D you would want lo-menubar installed)
+ nvidia-current from the Ubuntu repo:
apt-cache policy nvidia-current
nvidia-current:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 295.40-0ubuntu1
Version table:
295.40-0ubuntu1 0

Otherwise, if you have a bug in the driver provided directly by nvidia,
instead of the Ubuntu repos, support in fixing a bug in this would have
to be provided by nvidia.
Please advise if you would rather refocus this report on a different
iteration.
