This is really a bit odd, the update-manager "main.log" file stops at 15:17: 2012-09-20 15:17:28,673 ERROR Cache can not be locked (E:Could not get lock //var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable), E:Unable to lock the administration directory (//var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?)
