Thank you Jeremy, it works. Now there are only two usability issues which block me (and other non- Latin Gnome users) from using the ppa regularly:
1. Cannot change layout in overview mode: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643111 2. LibreOffice would not recognise shortcuts under non-Latin layouts: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55585 There is also one problem which was fixed upstream, and I hope it can be uploaded to your ppa: 1.
