I appreciate the help.

My machine does not have Windows installed, and the Dell website seems to
be designed with no consideration of Linux users.  I haven't been able to
figure out how to upgrade to A09.  I'll work on that when I get more time.

I've been able to boot up 3.2.0-30-generic several times, but it eventually
freezes up.  Version 3.2.0-29-generic is the version I'm currently
running.  I used it several hours yesterday with no problems.

I'll tick off your list as time allows.
