Christopher, nice to see that things are going on.
I installed the newest Kubuntu (12.10) (I didn't find a newer
development version in this moment). The bug still exists.
The information above are collected with apport as you described.
I'll now switch on wifi and the webcam (provoke the bug) and do a second
run with apport after my wifi and webcam crashed.
** Description changed:
Hi, I'm using Kubuntu 9.10, tried Kubuntu 10.04, same problem there. Also
tried opensuse 11.2, also same problem there.
Problem: When I start using my webcam, my wifi disconnects and is unable to
restart. On the other hand, my webcam only works with wifi disabled.
Those are the components concerned:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 148f:2573 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2501USB Wireless
Adapter
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04f2:b022 Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd Gateway USB 2.0
Webcam
Workaround: Disabled uvcvideo by blacklisting it. When I want to use my
webcam, I need a Cable-LAN connection and starting it manually with sudo
modprobe uvcvideo
First I thought, this bug is related to bug #435352, but as this seems
to be solved with an kernel-update, and mine isn't, it seems to be a new
one. In var/log/debug and messages there is no suspicious entry about
that. This bug affects all applications that use my webcam (Kopete,
Skype, luvcview, etc.)
Here's the difference when using luvcview:
