Hi Greg!

No, i don't think so, because i went into the same identical problem
when i used "your" values (1024x768 - which resulted anyway in the
correct screen, 1440x900, as well).

A personal question: I was very happy when i succeeded to install, via
alternative installer, 12.10 onto the powerbook. But now, i'm really
very sad about the fact, suspend (ram or disk) do not work. They only
seem to shut down the screen, fan, wireless and cpu continue to work.
in 12.04 that was perfect. And, btw, i have the same problem on a
Samsung 535 u3c (a double core amd64, extremely quick and smart.
Really on the samsun the problem is slightly different: suspend-to-ram
won't reawake, suspend-to-disk reawakes but shuts down hardwarewise
the wireless with no chance to reget it without reboot). Since i found
something by google i got the suspect, that might not be a lubuntu
thing but kernel related. So i tried out, on the samsung: Fedora 17
live (kernel 3.6 or so) and kubuntu 12.10 live, same result as with
lubuntu 12.10. Then, linuxmint debian 13 (kernel 3.2) and, voilà,
suspend works!!! (Small footnote: Looking a bit at this other distros
i realized how nice is the skin of lubuntu!!! :) ).

Now, as you can imagine, no suspend on a portable is not that
reasonable, would be interesting to know: Is this only a personal
problem. Then i'd have to try *MY* solution (either bricolage around
acpi or downgrading until there is hope for a systematical solution)
or if there is a reasonable prospective which makes waiting the best
way to go.

Thanks for your patience anyway, and thanks a lot for your big work!

Uli
