Thanks for your bug report. I can't really reproduce unfortunately.
Is it happening only with thunar? (e.g. is it fine if you try another file
manager such as nautilus or pcmanfm)
If your machine is a notebook, are you sure there's not something stuck
(crumb?) that activates the touchpad/trackpad click to dismiss the selection?
