Hi, yes, I purged all mysql packages, which caused mainly many KDE apps to end up uninstalled, such as the entire KDE-office package, but it did not help at first. I do have it working now, but I don't know what I did differently. The only thing that was different with previous attempts, is that I now installed everything again the next day. Perhaps there was some data preventing a proper re-install in a temporary file that placed back some data, a temporary file that got removed at shutdown. I can't trace it anymore though, wouldn't even know how.
