Looking back I think this was the issue Nishihama Kenkowo had with the original patch.
Sorry if you are already working on this offset issue but I thought I would add some thoughts. Looking through the dmraid code I cannot see where it would add an offset. Would the offset simply be the metadata size of 4 sectors or 2kB? Is it possible to simulate this offset with kpartx?
