Same problem.
It happens on any web browser, when you have an input box, and you have for
example the username input. You start typing and the auto completion appears,
the moment it disappears (you enter another username not listed or finish to
enter an existed username) the keyboard stops working, and you have to switch
window 2 times (alt+tab) in order to work again.
I've had this problem since ubuntu 11.04, now I'm using 12.10 and it's still
happening.
