To pad out the bug description a little more, the laptop will 100%
reliably DROP network link any time you either connect, or disconnect
the mains power cord. Sometimes it will reestablish link, sometimes it
won't and will require a hard wifi toggle via keyboard hotkeys.

dmesg contains output like:

[205678.104200] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: RF_KILL bit toggled to enable radio.
[205678.138464] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: L1 Disabled; Enabling L0S

..during each plug/unplug event.

After using the workarounds in this bug no such messages appear, even
though the power save state of the device has changed as normal.

Pure speculation on my part, but it seems that the driver issues a brief
flip of the rfkill bit when you ask it to change the power state this
way. I would call that a driver bug, not a pm-utils bug. Other than
this the driver is rock solid stable and performs well.

This issue doesn't occur in Windows.
