It did not happen after an update/upgrade, I was running Ubuntu 12.10 on
VirtualBox.

  No package (stuck on command line at startup, cannot type any code in command 
line, using 12.10 on VirtualBox QEMU Edition)
  I expected Ubuntu to boot.
  It did not boot.
+ I cannot run any commands, as I was told to. :(
