I'd really like to know if it was I that added the piece of code that made it 
fail,
I guess I'll need to learn some git blame foo to know why it was added since
apt-get doesn't have this code and I try to be the closest I can to it so bug
fixing is easier.
Anyway I just pushed a fix which can be easily backported:
