Eric, this scanner works fine in Linux. I have used it under Debian for a couple of years. There are two ways to get the scanimage tool to see the scanner:
1. ln -s /dev/sg4 /dev/scanner (and make sure you have permissions on /dev/sg4) 2. Use --device canon:/dev/sg4 as an argument (not tested) Unfortunately my FS2710 just broke, won't complete self-test which is why I was looking around the net to see if someone near me has an unused one to sell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/564104 Title: Canoscan fs2710 recognized by "sane-find-scanner" but other apps like scanimage or xsane don't see it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/564104/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
