The bug exists in rc7, but unlike rc2, the Unity desktop actually works, and my graphics display. In addition to the networking not working in rc7, my mouse and keyboard inputs do not work once I reach the desktop. In fact, I had to press the power button and wait 60 seconds for it to automatically shut down since I couldn't select the shutdown option on- screen. So, it's broken in rc7 as well, but with rc7, at least my graphics work properly. I was using the left alt key to move windows around, and terminal to lauch apps in rc2 because of that problem, which easily became incredibly frustrating.
