After logging onto Ubuntu 12.10, only the default background is shown
and nothing else. This occurs on an HP TC1100 tablet using GeForce4 420

+ Using Ubuntu 12.04 worked fine before and after logon.
WORKAROUND: Use the following kernel parameter, but the OS responds slower:
