This is not a bug, it is a misunderstanding of units. The issue is that you are comparing MB to M. MB is 1000*1000*1000, while M is 1024*1024*1024. For example, this file is shown with ls -alh on my system:
268M Jan 19 21:13 my_pix.zip 281015429 Jan 19 21:13 my_pix.zip Nautilus shows it in MB, which is simply the number of bytes above divided by 1,000,000, aka 281.0 MB.
