I can confirm that we are seeing this same behavior: "I am getting the list of users from the server just fine. I can ypcat passwd and I get the list of users from the server. However, none of the NIS accounts can log in. Only local accounts can login. My other machines are still using 6.10 and they are working fine. SO I know the passwords are correct, still cannot log in."
We have been debating between Ubuntu Feisty and FC7 as potential upgrades from FC5 which is EoL now. Getting this fixed would help our decision, as we use NIS for the workstations in our lab.
