Checked this bug and it is confirmed by openSUSE that it is a Poppler bug, which also affects other Linux based OS like openSUSE 12.2. Currently it is known to affect HP printer 5550 and HP 6400 series printer on 32-bit machine. No report for the same bug from 64-bit machine.
Checked Poppler-tool repository, Poppler 0.21.4 release (0.22 Release Candidate) fixed the bug. The 0.22 branch of Poppler is the stable release series. Latest Release on Feb. 10, 2013. (yesterday's release). Will you be able to include Poppler 0.22 release in next CUPS update? /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops call "pdftops -origpagesizes" was introduced in the last update to fix a duplex printing bug on HP 4000 series printer (Bug #776080). Now HP 5000 and 6000 printers are not happy! CUPS runs first of all /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops which is a wrapper that calls /usr/bin/pdftops that converts PDF to PostScript. And /usr/bin/pdftops is part of the Poppler-tool. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1116513 Title: /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/1116513/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
